SUMA Sauna & Lounge is located at Venetie 6, on the banks of the Kemijoki River in Rovaniemi. Surrounded by the northern riverside landscape, the modern building brings sauna, bathing, dining and relaxation together under one roof.
Inside SUMA
When you arrive, our reception leads you into the lounge and bar, a relaxed space for enjoying food, drinks and time together. At the heart of the indoor space is an open fire, where guests are welcome to sit, unwind and enjoy the warmth throughout their visit.
The bathing facilities include three distinctive saunas: a traditional wood-fired sauna, a panoramic sauna overlooking the Kemijoki River and a gently heated steam sauna. Outside, you can relax in the heated pool or, when weather and safety conditions allow, take an optional dip in the river.

What to bring
Every winter experience includes a towel, bathrobe and sauna slippers. Hairdryers and a selection of face and body care products are available in the changing rooms.
All you need to bring is yourself and your swimwear. If you do not have swimwear with you, it is also available to rent for the duration of your visit.
Changing rooms and shared facilities
Separate changing rooms and showers are available for women and men. Lockable storage is provided in the changing rooms for clothing and personal belongings.
With the exception of the changing and shower facilities, all areas at SUMA are shared. Swimwear must therefore be worn in all saunas and shared bathing areas.
Photography is permitted in most areas, but please respect the privacy of other guests. Our staff will be happy to provide further guidance on where and when photography is appropriate.
Accessibility
The entrance to SUMA is step-free. However, not all facilities are fully accessible. This includes the wood-fired sauna, heated outdoor pool and river swimming area.
If you have specific accessibility requirements, please contact us before your visit. Our team will be happy to provide more detailed information and help you plan your experience.
Booking and transportation
All visits to SUMA must be booked in advance. Please arrive approximately 15 minutes before the scheduled starting time of your experience.
Transportation to and from SUMA can be arranged through Taxi Rovaniemi as a paid additional service. Please ask us about transportation when making your booking.
Hosted at your own pace
Our staff will welcome you, introduce the facilities and explain everything you need to know before your experience begins. A SUMA host is available throughout your visit to offer guidance, answer questions and help you feel comfortable. Service is available in English and Finnish.
You are free to explore the saunas and other facilities at your own pace. Cold-water swimming is always optional. The experience is yours to enjoy in the way that feels right for you.
